'Naga Chaitanya - Sukumar film in Geetha arts launched'

Naga Chaitanya’s latest movie in the direction of Sukumar was launched at a function organized in Annapurna studios today morning. Bunny Vasu is being introduced as a producer on Geeta Arts banner. This is the production no. 31 of Geeta Arts and Allu Arvind presents it. Devi Sri Prasad composes music.

D Rama Naidu did pooja ceremony, Nagababu switched on the camera, Nagarjuna sounded the clapboard, SS Rajamouli directed the first shot and ANR handed over the script.

Allu Arvind said, “I saw the story around two and half years back. Sukumar always narrates his stories first to me. I like Sukumar a lot. He has got 4-5 varied versions for every scene in his movie. We decided to cast Naga Chaitanya as hero prior to the release of YMC. Sukumar narrated the story to Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya . Both of them liked it. I saw Happy Days and booked Tamanna’s dates for Geeta Arts long back. We wanted to cast her for Magadheera and she didn’t suit it. Naga Chaitanya is an intelligent guy. Geeta Arts had done movies with other heroes in the past and we continue to do it in the future too.”

Naga Chaitanya said, “I feel happy to work for Geeta Arts banner. Lots of good technicians are working for this movie and this movie is going to be technically good. I heard that Sukumar is a dedicated director and I realised it when he narrated the script to me. I wanted my third film to be an action entertainer, but changed it after listening to this script. There is something for everybody in this film.”

Tamanna said, “I am doing a straight Telugu film after a year. I am happy to work for Geeta Arts. I am doing a performance oriented role in this movie.”

Sukumar said, “I narrate all my stories to Allu Arvind first. I didn’t have any hero in mind when I penned this story. Only Arya 2 script was made with Allu Arjun in mind. I opined that Tamanna is apt for heroine. I loved Naga Chaitanya’s performance in YMC. It is a romantic action movie. Devi Sri Prasad is giving fabulous music.”

Producer Bunny Vasu said, “Bunny liked the story and recommended it to Allu Arvind. Allu Arvind suggested the name of Naga Chaitanya. I am really happy to produce my debut film in Geeta Arts banner.”

Pawan Kalyan in Singeetam’s film on 'Jesus Christ'

Pawan Kalyan is all set to play an all-important role in a film to be based on the life of Jesus Christ. Singeetam Srinivas Rao, who made several experimental movies including Vichitra Sodaralu, Pushpaka Vimanam, Aditya 369, is directing this film in four languages - English, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam. In each of these versions, a local top hero would be playing the main role while rest of the cast involves with kid artistes. For Telugu version, Pawan Kalyan has agreed to do the key role.

“It is a children’s film on the life of Jesus Christ. But we are roping in top stars for each language to play an important role in the movie. Pawan Kalyan has given us green signal. It is too early to reveal his role,” producer Konda Krishnam Raju said.

The film goes to the sets from June 30 in Mumbai.

The audiences are aware that Siddhartha and Dil Raju are joining hands again for a film to be directed by a debutant Venu Sriram. The latest news is that samanta, the bubbly girl who made her debut with Naga Chaitanya’s recent hit film ’Ye Maya Chesave’, was roped in as the heroine opposite Siddhartha.
In all probabilities, the shooting of the film would be formally launched by the end of July, say sources from Film Nagar.

Now this is what can be called a genuine multi-starrer. If all things go smooth, Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan will act in the same movie.
Known to all, Pawan Kalyan and Venkatesh are good friends off the screen. They have also openly expressed their desire to work together. Their wish might just come true if everything goes smooth if ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ director Srikanth Addala pulls off a terrific script.

It is also said that Dil Raju who introduced Srikanth Addala in ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ will produce this movie. According to a few sources, its all about the timing and the nature of the script. If everything goes right, the film will go on floors this year itself. A unique title such as ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ is being considered. Nothing official has been announced yet but there is definitely an offering from Venky and Pawan Kalyan that will be heard soon.

The multi-starrer scenario in Telugu films vanished in between, though they appeared sometimes in the middle. Take a look back, NT Rama Rao and Nageshwara Rao acted in a lot of movies together. Similarly retro stars Krishna and Shoban Babu along with Chandra Mohan and Murali Mohan had acted in multi-starrers.

Similarly Chiranjeevi, Rajendra Prasad, Mohan Babu and a few others of the eighties acted in multi-starrers. From the early nineties, the multi-starrers disappeared. None of the new generation actors had tried but few actors like Jagapathy Babu, Sivaji, Allari Naresh are being involved in a few projects.

Allu Arjun and Manchu Manoj have broken that jinx with their ‘Vedam’. Let us expect regular multi-starrers and high entertainment from our stars in the forthcoming years.

The surprise doesn’t end there. While speaking at a function in Trichy to release the audio the film 'Veluthu Kattu' director and father of Vijay SA Chandrashekar said that he is going to remake some of his old hits with the new generation of stars and technicians.
 

His first in the series will be the remake of 'Naan Sigappu Manithan' starring Rajinikanth, K. Bhagyaraj and Ambika. The film was super hit in the 80s. It was vendetta tale in which the hero a self-styled vigilante and goes after the bad guys after he loses his sister and mother to the villains.
And you guessed it right. SAC is planning to cast Vijay in the role of Rajini.

“Most Wanted” Bollywood star Salman Khan has been signed up as the Brand Ambassador of the IIFA Charity Initiative, which includes housing, literacy and rehabilitation measures for the people in the Northern and Eastern regions of Sri Lanka. The initiative is part of IIFA Weekend being held in Colombo from June 3 to 5.

Salman already runs “Being Human Charity Foundation”, supported IIFA’s initiative to build bridges with the Lankan people who have suffered hardships due to the decades-old war that ended last year with the military defeat of the LTTE.

“Slman Khan Charity Cricket Match” is being organised between Indian film celebrities and Sri Lankan cricketers on June 4 as part of the “Cricket for Change Project” under which former child soldiers will be rehabilitated.

Balakrishna’s  Simha  is turning out to be big hit, ending the drought for success for Balayya. At the end of the film’s first week, the film’s success was celebrated. On Thursday night (May 6th), the film’s unit including hero Balakrishna, director Boyapati, music director Chakri and other cast members except the leading heroines attended the success meet held at Cinemax in Hyderabad.

Producer Parachuri Prasad said the film has grossed Rs 26 Crores in the first week making it one of the biggest openers in Tollywood history.

Coming to the collections, let’s start with Guntur District, where the buyers were into the safe zone literally on 4th day. First week expected share is around 2 crores from this single district, where the previous highest for any movie is 1.8Cr. This once again proves the positive mouth talk generated for this movie, without which it is not possible to get such a huge figure in just 7 days span. Then next in line is Ananthapur district, where right from the first show, the movie had carried a unanimous superhit talk, forcing the buyer to screen Simha in extra theatres replacing a movie that is already running. In Ananthapur district, the movie amassed a sum of around 1.3Cr in the first week, where it was bought for 80Lkhs. Same is true with other districts like West Godavari, East Godavari and Krishna districts. In Utharandhra region (which comprises of 3 districts), the theatres has been witnessing a huge crowd thronging to the theatres, which forced the theatre owners to give advance bookings, ahead for a week. And coming to Nellore, it’s the same situation over there as well; advance booking - NO current booking :)

A big multi-starrer is going to happen in Tollywood. Ram Charan and Allu Arjun are all set to star together in a new film to be produced by Allu Aravind. Although the film might not begin this year, the project is being conceived by Aravind. He already registered a title  Charan Arjun   ala Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan starrer  Karan Arjun  at Film Chamber.

The title was registered on Geeta Arts banner and when we enquired about this movie at the production house, they have confirmed that plan of doing a film with this together is there. But it takes at least another year to be materialized.

Ileana D'Cruz (born 01 November 1987 in Mumbai) is an Indian film actress.

She made her feature film debut through Y.V.S. Chowdhary's Telugu-language film Devadasu opposite newcomer, Ram, but has also done a Tamil film Kedi. She has emerged one of the most successful actresses in the Telugu film industry, having appeared in several blockbusters like Devadasu, Pokiri, Jalsa and Kick.

Tollywood actress Ileana back to Tamil movies. But the actress is in no hurry. Ileana was in the city to launch a dance studio, when DC caught up with the actress for a freewheeling interview:

Why is it taking a long time to make a comeback in Tamil?(Smiles) I have been getting lot of offers from Tamil (industry) after my debut film Kedi. All along I was busy with Telugu movies. Even now, recently I had agreed to do a film with Vikram under Vikram K Kumar’s direction because the script was amazing. But unfortunately, the project is not happening now. I had listened to yet another script from Bhoopathy Pandian with the same hero playing the protagonist. I liked the script. Yet to sign on dotted line. Let’s see.

You even turned down Rajinikanth’s film Sultan The Warrior!
When I realised it was an animated film and my face is not going to be shown, it was just mutual consent with the film’s director Soundarya Rajinikanth that I did not do Sultan.

What happened to your Bollywood entry?Hindi films reach pan Asian audiences. It is a very big platform. So I want a solid script which would project me correctly. I am in no hurry.

Unlike Bollywood, do you think actresses are getting meaty roles in south?Everyone knows that I am picky about my roles. So far I have been lucky to get good films. In Hindi, once you prove yourself, some sort of image is carried with you and people take you seriously. Yes, I do agree that in the South it is seldom an actress gets meaty characters. It is predominantly a male dominated industry.

What about the rumours about your silicon treatment?
Me? Silicon treatment? Do I look like that? (Laughs) I will never ever even think of it in (my) wildest dreams. I don’t want to play around with my body. Accept me as it is — this is my mantra.

What are your other interests?I love to sing, I want to start my own band in future. I like to design clothes, sketch and I’m also interested in the game of football.

Radha Krishna of film ‘Krish’ fame is directing this film. He said they have completed the shooting part of their film and currently re recording work is in progress. The film is made in multi dimension and certainly going to create a new record in collections. The audio of the film is scheduled release on May 2nd and film will be released on 20th of this month.

Posani, Brahmanandam, Raghu babu, Ravi Prakash, Manoj Bajpai, Lekha Washington, Saranya, Sriya Gautam and some others are in the star cast of this film. MM. Keeravani scored music for this film.
